Uji Toksisitas Akutdengan Penentuan LD Infusa Tanaman Lidah Buaya (Aloe Chinensis Baker) Yang Diberikan Secara Oral Terhadap Mencit (Musmusculus L)
Plants contain substances which have excellent potential could be developed into medicine, one of them is aloe vera. The use of small dose aloe vera might give the medicine-like effect, however, the effects of excessive use of aloe is unknown. Toxicity test to determine the LD50 value of aloe is needed because there hasn’t been any research to measure it safety standart. This study was laboratory experimental research by using the post test only control group design. This research used 24 mice as subject which divided into 5 treatment groups and 1 control group, each contain 4 mice. Aloe vera in the form of infusion were administered orally at a single dose for each treatment group:20,25,30,35,40(g/KgBW) and the control group got only aquadest. The performed observations 24 hours after treatment show that no mice died in each group. These results suggest aloe vera is safe enough to use with the highest dose 40g/KgBW. It conclude that LD50 values of aloe vera is higher than this dose.
