Kalimat Minor Dalam Acara Mata Najwa

This study is entitled ”Minor Sentences in Mata Najwa”. The purposes of this research are to explain the types and the meaning of some minor sentences used in Mata Najwa talk show. The type of this study is qualitative research with descriptive method. The source of the data as the object of the research is Mata Najwa talk show in Metro TV. The data collection technique was done by using observing-note taking technique and documenting the 5 episode in September 2015 of Mata Najwa talk show in different topics. The result of the research showed that there were 6 types of unstructured minor sentences which is used in; calling, greeting, the title, slogan, ordering expression, giving statement expression, and the type of structured minor sentences which was only found in minor fragment elips sentences. The meaning of minor sentences were known and analyzed based on pragmatics side by using contextual meaning theory. This meaning could appear based on some contexts of; the language, the emotional, the situational, the cultural, the personal, the situation, the purpose, the formal-informal conversation, the speaker and audience situation, time, place, object, the completeness of talking and listening of the speaker and audience or the language. Based on the contexts above, appeared the meaning of the unstructured minor sentences which has meaning; opening the conversation, giving the questions, giving honor, giving announcement, statement, ordering, giving statement, whereas in structured minor sentences has meaning clarifying and convincing.
