Gambaran Faal Paru Petugas Penyapu Jalan Dinas Kebersihan Kota Pekanbaru
Street sweepers are thought to be susceptible of changes in lung function due to frequent exposure of air pollution and other influenced factors. This study aim was to assess the lung physiology of the street sweepers staff of Pekanbaru City Sanitation Department. The study design was descriptive cross sectional. The study included 61 street sweepers of Pekanbaru City Sanitation Department taken by stratified random sampling. The data of respondents characteristics was obtained by using questionnaire. The value of lung function was obtained by conducting direct examination towards the respondents. Respondents were mostly >40 years (57%), women (89%), ≥10-year workforce (54%), non-smokers (82%), no previous risk work history (95%), morning work shift (84%), location on small road works (51%) and always use personal protective equipment (54%). The amount of normal lung function of respondents was generally 74%, restrictive lung disorders 21%, obstructive lung disorder 3% and 2% mixed pulmonary disorder. Characteristics of respondents with abnormal lung physiological values were mostly found in the age group> 40 years (19%), women (21%), non-smokers (21%), ≥10-year workforce (18%), workers with no previous risk work (24%), morning work shift (18%), founded the same amount for the location of protocol road and small road works, never use personal protection tool (13%) and also obese (54%).
