Pengaruh Penggunaan Kondom Terhadap Risiko Terjadinya Kondiloma Akuminata Pada Pekerja Seks Komersial (Psk) Di Hotspot X Dan Hotspot Y Pekanbaru

Genital warts are sexually transmitted infections caused by certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that causes fibroepithelioma in the skin and mucosal . The use of condoms is one of the methods to prevent genital warts. Female sex workers (FSW) have a higher risk of genital warts.This study aims to determine the influence of condom use towards the risk of genital warts among female sex workers (FSW) in hotspot X and hotspot Y in Pekanbaru. This in an analytical study with case control approach. The population of this study were FSW in hotspot X and hotspot Y of Pekanbaru. Samples were determined by consecutive sampling method to 40 people through interview using the research sheet and physical examination. The results showed that among 40 samples, 22 samples (55%) did not always use condoms, and 18 samples (45%) always used condoms. Based on statistical analysis, there was an influence between the use of condoms with the incidence of genital warts (p=0,026), and furthermore the behavior of infrequently using condoms was a risk factors for genital warts (OR = 5.57; 95% CI= 1.42-21.86). The conclusion of this study is there was an influence of condom use with genital warts incidence in hotspots X and hotspots Y in Pekanbaru.
