Profil Pasien Epdidymo-Orchitis Akut Di Rsud Arifin Ahmad Provinsi Riau Periode 2010-2017
Epididymo-orchitis is an inflammatory process of the epididymis and testes. Epididymo-orchitis is a syndrome that mostly presents with acute pain and caused by pathogen that is sexually transmitted then spreading upward, or uropathogens that spread to the urinary tract. Epididymo-orchitis can affect any age and very common in men over 35 years. This is associated with increasing partial blockage of urine flow as the age increase. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of acute epididymo-orchitis patients in Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau. The research design used in this study is a retrospective descriptive approach whose data is obtained from secondary data (by seeing the medical record) of epididymo-orchitis patients undergoing urological treatment at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau. The sample consisted of 21 patients obtained from Arifin Achmad Hospital, most cases of acute epididymo-orchitis occured in 2015 (57.2%), most frequent age infected is 21-30 years old (47.6%), the most clinical symptom was scrotal pain (80.9%), most physical examination found was swollen scrotum (71.4%), medication that mostly used were ceftriaxon and ketorolac (100%). Hematocrit was often used as supportive testing (95.2%), and the average period of treatment are 4-7 days (57.1%). Epididymo-orchitis complication such as testicular abscess was only found in one patient (4.8%). Kata kunci : Epididymo-orchitis, epididimis, orhitis
