Analisis Dampak Kebijakan Naiknya Tarif Impor Baja Amerika Serikat Terhadap Impor Baja Indonesia Dari China 2018
International trade is never free of tariffs. Tariffs will have an impact in the form of increasing prices or costs of imported products into a country. The United States in 2018 raised tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum commodities to support domestic industries. The United States policy in increasing import tariffs by 25% on steel imports and 10% on aluminum imports can weakening world economy and has implications for Indonesia because China is the largest producer of steel in the world to control 49.2% of the market share. The research aims find out the impact of the policy of increasing US steel import tariffs on China and Indonesia exports in 2018.
The research used secondary data obtained from Badan Pusat Statistik, World Bank, World Steel Association 2018, General Administration of Custom 2018 and HIS Global Market YTD through 2018. The method of data analysis used the Variant Test of One-way Annova.
The results of the research showed that there was no difference in China’s steel exports to America before and after the increase in tariffs and there was no difference in China's steel exports to Indonesia before and after the tariffs increased.
