Pengaruh Manipulasi Fotoperiod Dan Pakan Yang Berbeda Terhadap Indeks Morfoanatomi Ikan Selais (Ompok Hypophthalmus)
Growth and reproduction of fish is affected by internal and external factors including photoperiod. Photoperiod as well as feed affects the gonad development. To know the appropriate duration of photoperiod and food types, a study has been conducted in May – October 2018. The fish was reared in 140 x 60 x 40 cm fiber tank, and they were placed under black plastic tent completed with 35 watt light bulb (2100 Lumen). There were 3 diffetrent photoperiods, 12 hours light 12 dark (12L12D), 16 hours dark (16D8L) and 24 hours dark (24D) and there were 3 different feed combinations, 70% feed with 15% shrimp and 15% cricket (15S15C); 10% shrimp and 20% cricket (10S20C) and 20% shrimp and 10% cricket (20S10C). There was Randomized Block Design. The fish was sampling 6 times, once/ week. Parameters measured were total length, body weight, condition factor (CF), Gonado Somatic Index (GSI), Hepatosomatic Index (HIS) and Viscero Somatic Index (VSI). Results shown that photoperiod and type of food affects the growth but do not affects the reproduction of the fish. The best result was obtained in 24D10S20C, with 20.58 cm TL, 48,98 g BW and 0.5 CF by the end of the experiment. In all treatment applied, fish with 3rd maturity stage occurred by the 6th week, but only 2 fishes with 4th maturity stage occur in the 16D8L20S10C. based on data obtained, it can be concluded that rearing O. hypophthalmus in continuous dark provide the best result in growth but do not affect reproduction.
