Pengaruh Siklus Menstruasi Terhadap Keasaman Vagina
Menstruation is bleeding that occurs due to the release of endometrium in the uterus. Menstrual cycle is a complex and coordinated sequence of events involving the hypothalamus, anterior pituitary, ovary, and endometrium. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of menstrual cycle with vaginal acidity. This is an analytical study with cross sectional approach. The population of this study were women with regular menstruation and haven’t been menopause yet who come to the skin and genital clinic of Petala Bumi District Hospital. Samples were determined by concecutive sampling method for 36 people throught interview using the research sheet and physical examination. The most characteristic age of this study was 20-24 years old (50%), the length of menstrual cycle is 29 days (22,2%), first age of menstruation (menarche) at age >12 years old (69,4%), habit of changing sanitary pads were > 2 a day (100%), the highest level of vaginal acidity at the proliferation phase is pH 4.5 (38.1%) and the highest acidity level at the secretion phase is pH 5.5 (60%). Chi Square test shows the result of p value = 0.000. The conclution of this study is a significant relationship between the menstrual cycle with the vaginal acidity.
