Pengelolaan Lubuk Larangan Di Batang Air Nagari Kuranji Hilir Provinsi Sumatera Barat

In the Nagari Kuranji Hilir river there is a restricted area and it is known as “lubuk larangan”. As it is a habitat for T.tambroides, a rare endemic fish species. A research aims to find out a proper method to manage the Nagari Kuranji Hilir river restricted area in order to safe T.tambroides population was conducted on April to August 2019. A quantitative approach method was applied by obtaining information through interviewing the leader of the community and distributing questionnaires to the villagers, while the water was sampled 3 times, in the buffer and conservation zones. Water quality parameters in the habitat of T.tambroides were as follows: temperature 26,6-27,3°C, current speed 0,49-1,64 m/s, transparency 26,8-38,1 cm, depth 43-82,3 cm, pH 6-6,3, DO 4,15-5,77 mg/L, free CO2 4,66-4,92 mg/L and phytoplankton abundance was 1.283-2.067 sel/L. The participation of the villagers toward the conservation of T.tambroides was high o.92. Results of the interview shown that the management applied for conserving the restricted area are conducted by: (1) establishing a zonation system for protecting the T.tambroides, (2) establishing a rule and punishment for people who illegally capture T.tambroides, (3) founding a monitoring team to manage and monitor the restricted area.
