Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan Melalui Permainan Bola Huruf Pada Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun Di Paud Pahlawan Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir
Abstract :The background of this research is most of the reading ability of
children is very less is seen In the implementation of teaching reading, teachers
are often faced in children who have difficulty learning to read especially in early
childhood. These difficulties include: 1) The inability of the child to read the
beginning-the alphabetical letter is often encountered by teachers who are
difficult to distinguish between uppercase / capital and lowercase. 2) the ability of
children in reading is still lacking. 3) the child still has not been able to put the
letters into a word.
Based on these backgrounds, the researcher performs improvements and
optimizes the ability to read the beginning of the child according to the level of
development of his age. The purpose of the implementation of this research is (1)
to know the improvement of the ability to read the beginning through the game
ball letters in children aged 5-6 years (2) to know how to apply ball game of
letters to improve early reading skill in children aged 5-6 years (3) to know how
big improvement of reading ability beginning with game of ball of letter at child
age 5-6 years in PAUD Pahlawan Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir.
This type of research is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. In 1
cycle there are 3 meetings. The data collection tool used in this research is in the
form of observation sheet. The number of samples in this study were 15 children
consisting of 6 boys and 9 girls.
Based on the assessment process analysis of 2 cycles an increase.
Increasing that happened from before action to cycle I equal to 32,9%, cycle I to
cycle II equal to 38,2%, and increase from before cycle to cycle II equal to 83,2%.
From the result of the research, it can be concluded that through the game of the
ball of the letters can improve the reading ability of the beginning in children
aged 5-6 years in PAUD Pahlawan Kecamatan Bangko Kabupaten Rokan Hilir
and can be increased from pre-cycle to cycle I and cycle II in MB category to
BSH and BSB.
The large percentage of early reading ability improvement in children
aged 5-6 years in PAUD Heroes Bangko District Rokan Hilir Regency obtained
the average value that is before the cycle obtained value of 43.01% and increased
in the first cycle with an average value of 57.93% and In cycle II there is an
increase that is average value in cycle II reach 80,08%. Percentage improvement
of early reading ability in children aged 5-6 years through preliminary reading
activity through ball game in PAUD Pahlawan District Bangko District Rokan
Hilir by 86.2%.
