ABSTRACT
Functional facilities are complementary facilities of basic facilities to facilitate
work, port management and are useful for existing services in fishing ports to
achieve optimal fishing port facilities. The level of utilization of functional
facilities is an indication of the success of service and comfort of fishermen in
carrying out their activities. The utilization of the facility depends on the
condition of the facility whether it is functioning or not. Poor utilization of
functional facilities has disrupted service activities at the port. The purpose of this
study was to identify the level of functional facilities utilization at the Fish
Landing Base (PPI) Pusong, Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe District. This
research was conducted in August 2019. The method used in this study is a survey
method. The analysis used is the analysis of the level of facility utilization. The
survey shows that the existing facilities are fish auction places, ice factories, fresh
water tanks, cold storage, administrative offices, parking lots, workshops and
docking, fishing gear repair places and SPDN (Solar Packed Fishermen Dealers).
At present there are 9 facilities at the pusong fish landing base, 4 of which are
either not utilized or are not well managed. Of the 9 existing facilities, only 1
facility can be analyzed. Based on the results of the research that has been carried
out, it is obtained the level of utilization of functional facilities in PPI Pusong
which can be calculated only the fuel tank facilities at PPI Pusong by 30.34%
which is classified as very underutilized.
