Forest and land fires are a condition in which forests and land are affected by fire which causes damage that causes economic, health and environmental losses. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen community institutions that care about fire in overcoming forest and land fires. However, what happens to the community that cares about fire there are obstacles that can weaken community institutions that care about fire. The purpose of this research is to find out how to strengthen community institutions that care about fire in the prevention of forest and land fires and to find out the factors that are the challenges of strengthening community institutions that care about fire in managing forest and land fires. This study uses snowball sampling techniques with qualitative research types using a case study approach and the necessary data such as primary data and secondary data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed based on research problems. The results of this study indicate that: first, the strengthening of community institutions that care about fire in overcoming forest and land fires has been carried out well but there are deficiencies from an internal perspective. Second, the factors that challenge the institutional strengthening of the fire-care community are motivation, increase in human and financial resources as well as supporting facilities and infrastructure.
