Sibolga fishing port as a technical implementing unit of the directorate general
of capture fisheries has carried out various activities in order to achieve the objectives
of capture fisheries development, namely to increase production and productivity of
capture fisheries business based on sustainable management of fish resources and
improve the welfare of fisherman. Supporting the increase in fish production at sea,
the infrastructure of the fishing port is very much needed so that the port operational
activities run well. So it is necessary to assess the operational activities of the port to
find out and improve the parts that need improvement so that it supports efforts to
develop fisheries. Research was carried in february 2020 in fishing port of
sibolga.The results of the analysis of operational activities indicate that operational
activities at the fishery port have not been said to be good because they have not gone
well and achieved the targets set. Operational activities that have reached the target
set by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries are the number of fish
production whose success value in 2016 reached 55,629 tons / day, in 2017 reached
63,702 tons / day and in 2018 it reached 83,454 tons / day and the provision of ice
block supplies its success value in 2016 reached 61 tons / day, in 2017 reached 83
tons / day and in 2018 it reached 103 tons / day. While on the frequency of ship visits,
the supply of ice cubes and marketing has not yet reached the targets set by the
Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. The operational activity at the Sibolga
fishing port is hampered due to the large number of areas around the port. This shows
that the development of the Sibolga fishing port must further pay attention to the
provision of supplies and mooring facilities.
