Pleonasme Dalam Debat Calon Presiden (Capres) Dan Calon Wakil Presiden (Cawapres) 2019
This study aims to describe the forms of pleonasm and the factors that cause pleonasm in the debates of the 2019 presidential and vice-presidential candidates. This study uses a qualitative approach, descriptive methods. The source of data in this research is the recording of the debates between the presidential and vice presidential candidates in 2019 from the first to fifth rounds. The data used for research were words and phrases that experienced pleonasm that occurred in the debates of the 2019 presidential and vice-presidential candidates. Data was collected using the observation and note technique (transcript). Data were analyzed by identifying data, classifying data, describing data, and concluding. The results of the study found five forms of pleonasm, namely, two synonym words (47 data), excessive prepositions (11 data), words rather than unnecessary (25 data), concord or agreement (68 data), repeating words (2 data). The factors causing pleonasm in the debate are; intention factor (78 data), accidental factor (16 data), and ignorance factor (59 data).
