materials (coconut leaves) and artificial materials (plastic rope). This research was
conducted in Kuok village, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This research was
conducted on March 25 - March 30 2019. This fisherman in the village of Kuok,
Kampar Regency, uses a sampan as a tool to lower his fishing aid, the length of the
fishing aid tool is 250 m. The fishing was carried out in Kuok village, Kampar
district, Riau Province. The types of fish caught were Kapiek (B.schwanefeldi),
Tilapia (Oreocromis nilocticus), Motan Fish (Thynnichthys polylepis). The results
showed that the catch of nets using fish escort tools using natural ingredients
(Coconut Leaves) for 6 days, namely 136 heads of Kapiek (B.schwanefeldi), 10
Tilapia (Oreocromis nilocticus). (3 kg), 5 fish of Motan (Thynnichthys polylepis)
(0.30 kg), while the fish catch using artificial materials (plastic rope) for 6 days,
namely Kapiek fish (B.schwanefeldi) 19 heads (6.82 kg), 14 Tilapia (Oreocromis
nilocticus), 2 Motan Fish (Thynnichthys polylepis) (1.1 kg). After comparing with the
existing literature, it can be concluded that the use of the coconut leaf tool as a tool
for herding fish can be applied, because the catch is more than using the plastic rope
