Struktur Komunitas Bivalva Pada Ekosistem Mangrove Kampung Rawa Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau
Mangrove ecosystem in Rawa Mekar Jaya Village is inhabited by
numerous aquatic organisms, including bivalves. As that mangrove area has been
decreased due to illegal logging activities, the aquatic organisms living in that area
might be negatively affected. A research aims to determine the species
composition, density type, dominance index, diversity, and uniformity of bivalve
in that area has been conducted in November – December 2019.There were 3
stations and in each station there was 1 transect line with 3 plots (1x1 m). Results
showed that there were 3 bivalves species present, they were Polymesoda erosa,
Pharella acutidens, Glauconome virens. Diversity index (H’) was 1.30 – 1.46;
bivalve density range 0.9 – 1.8 organism/m2; dominance index (C) was 0.39 –
0.44; and similarity index (E) was 0.82 – 0.92; Temperatures was 27 – 29.5 oC;
water pH 5 – 7; salinity 10 – 15 0/00; sandy mud substrate; organic material 11.8 –
18.6%.
