This study entitled the Implementation of Clinical Supervision in Improving the Quality of Teacher Performance in SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota, Kampar Regency. This study aims to answer the focus of research on clinical supervision in SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota and the implementation of clinical supervision in improving the quality of teacher performance in SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Researchers explore the phenomena that occur in the field, then describe them in the form of words and sentences. The methods used by researchers in data collection are observation, interviews and documentation.
The results of research conducted in the field show that the implementation of clinical supervision in improving teacher performance at SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota has shown good results. Although there are some drawbacks. Clinical supervision at SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota depends more on the readiness of the teacher. Supervisors who supervise teachers are specific teachers in their respective fields of study. Clinical supervision at SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota has several stages including, initial preparation, initial meeting, return meeting. Teachers in SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota have met the standards of professional teachers who meet four competencies including pedagogical competence, personality competence, professional competence and social competence. In improving this competence, especially for new teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Bangkinang Kota, one of them is through clinical supervision. The increase felt by teachers who have carried out clinical supervision is the increase in teacher competence, which can be seen from the very varied methods used, being able to manage the class well, being able to recognize and understand the character of each student well and being able to make students active in learning.
