Hubungan Olahraga Teratur Dengan Sindrom Pramenstruasi Pada Siswi Sekolah Menengah Atas Kota Pekanbaru
Premenstrual syndrome is a condition that is experienced by women
before the menstrual cycle, this condition can bother the function and daily
activities. One of the ways to reduce premenstrual syndrome is to do regular
exercise, because regular exercise will produce endorphins and serotonin which
can reduce the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. This study aims to determine
the relationship between regular exercise and premenstrual syndrome on high
school students at Pekanbaru City. This study is an analytic with cross-sectional
design. The study sample was 76 respondents from MAN 2 Pekanbaru City and
Riau State Sports High School in January to July 2020 with a sampling technique
using purposive sampling. The results showed that, there are 76.3% of MAN 2
Pekanbaru City students who have symptoms of moderate to severe premenstrual
syndrome those who exercise irregularly while Riau State High School sports
students who exercise regularly only experience without symptoms to mild
