Pengaruh Harapan Dan Disiplin Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Profesional Guru SD Negeri Di Kecamatan Dumai Kota Dumai
Professional performance of teachers is the achievement of results or
outcomes of a job with the contribution of human resources in an organizational
environment that is in accordance with the ability or special expertise in the field
of education with a sense of responsibility to his work as a teacher in accordance
with the scientific basis he has.
Professional performance will be optimal, when integrated with the
components ofthe school, both principals, work facilities, teachers, employees,
and students. According to Pidarta (2016) that there are several factors that can
affect the performance of teachers in carrying out their duties, namely the
leadership of the principal, work facilities, expectations, and the trust of school
personnel.
Based on the background of the problem that has been described above, it
can be formulated several problems, among others: 1) Is there an influence of
expectations on the professional performance of teachers of SD Negeri in Dumai
District, Dumai City? 2) Is there any influence of work discipline on the
professional performance of teachers of SD Negeri in Dumai Subdistrict, Dumai
City? 3) Do the expectations and disciplines of work together affect the
professional performance of teachers of SD Negeri in Dumai Subdistrict, Dumai
City?
The purpose of this study is: 1) To find out and analyze the influence
between expectations on the professional performance of elementary school
teachers in Dumai Subdistrict, Dumai City. 2) To know and analyze the influence
between work disciplines on the professional performance of elementary school
teachers in Dumai Subdistrict, Dumai City. 3) To know and analyze the influence
of expectations and discipline of work together on the professional performance
of elementary school teachers in Dumai Subdistrict, Dumai City.
This research uses quantitative approach. The population of this study is a
state elementary school teacher in Dumai Subdistrict, Dumai City which amounts
to 110 people. The samples in this study amounted to 86 people. Sampling in this
study was carried out using simple random sampling technique, because the
sampling of the population was carried out randomly without paying attention to
the strata in this population. The type of data from this study are primary data for
expectation variables and work discipline variables obtained from teachers using
questionnaires and secondary data for teacher professional performance
variables using UKG scores for elementary school teachers in Dumai Subdistrict,
Dumai City. The data analysis techniques in this research is descriptive statistical
analysis and inferential statistical analysis using path analysis with the help of
SPSS.
The results of the study obtained a significant influence between
expectations on the professional performance of teachers. In addition, there is a
significant influence between work discipline on the professional performance of

teachers, and together the results of this study can be concluded that the better the
expectations and discipline of teacher work, the better the professional
performance of elementary school teachers in Dumai Subdistrict, Dumai City.
This research is expected to be an input to improve the professional performance
of teachers by applying work discipline in the teaching and learning process so
that teachers expectations to achieve national educational goals are achieved.
