Self-development through extracurricular activities carried out at SMAN 2
Siak Hulu in principle has not been implemented properly, so the relationship
with governance or management of activities still needs improvement in various
aspects, in terms of improving the quality and management of implementing selfdevelopment
programs through extracurricular activities. Regarding the
management of extracurricular activities at SMAN 2 Siak Hulu, the most basic
thing the researchers found was that the self-development program through
extracurricular activities did not work properly. This study aims to analyze the
planning, organization, implementation, and supervision carried out to determine
and achieve the goals that have been determined through self-development at
SMAN 2 Siak Hulu.
This research is a research with a descriptive approach where data
collection is done by qualitative methods. This study also wants to find out more
in-depth problems, so it is more appropriate to use a descriptive approach.
Procedures are carried out in the form of observations, interviews, making field
notes and documentation that produce new findings that can be justified
scientifically.
Based on the results of research conducted by the authors, it was found
that management based on the POAC theory (planning, organizing, actuating,
and controlling) has not run optimally. Some attributes need to be improved
according to the research results obtained. Continuous improvement needs to be
done to achieve good management. Some attributes that have had good results
need to be maintained.
