Kerjasama Indonesia Dan Singapura Dalam Bidang Pariwisata Pada Tahun 2016-2020
Indonesia-Singapore cooperation in tourism is marked by a cooperation
agreement between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the
Government of Singapore on cooperation in the field of tourism promotion and
development signed in Yogyakarta on September 29, 1994. This collaboration
aims to promote the development of tourism on the basis of fairness and mutual
benefit, in particular increasing the flow of tourists from Singapore and Indonesia
on a mutually beneficial basis. The Indonesian government under President Joko
Widodo has established a new form of cooperation with the Singapore
government. In November 2016, Indonesian Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya and
Singapore's Minister of Trade and Industry S. Iswaran, signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) on Tourism between the two countries. In the field of
tourism, The Indonesian and Singapore cooperation groups are conducted by
encouraging intensification of cooperation in the following sphere: 1) marketing
collaboration and promotion of tourism together; 2) development of the shipping
sector such as cruise ship tourism; 3) and Meetings, Incetives, Conventions and
Exhibitions (MICE). This research was conducted with the aim to explain the
forms of cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore in the field of tourism in
2016-2020 and explain about how the implementation of cooperation between
Indonesia and Singapore in the field of tourism in 2016-2020.
This study uses descriptive research method with qualitative data analysis
technique. Where the purpose of this study is to describe phenomena, symptoms,
events or events that occur. This research uses primary data collection techniques
and secondary data, then connects theory with data obtained through library
research.
The results showed that indonesia and Singapore's cooperation in 2016-
2020 was not subjected to obstacles and was considered successful. This is
evidenced by singapore's commitment to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia in
2021. Indonesia's condition is considered to prove the absence of barriers to
cooperation for the two countries. The increase in foreign tourists visiting
Indonesia proves that Indonesia-Singapore cooperation in 2016-2020 has been
successful.
