Hubungan Tingkat Kepatuhan Minum Obat Antihipertensi Terhadap Terkontrolnya Tekanan Darah Pada Pasien Hipertensi Di Puskesmas Tenayan Raya Kota Pekanbaru Tahun 2019

In Riau Province, hypertension was the most common of non-infectious
health problem. The prevalence of hypertension based on data from Health Office
of Riau Province in 2017 was 15.93%, Pekanbaru City with prevalence of 14.88%
ranked 2 after Dumai City. Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru became the Primary Health
Care (PHC) with the highest prevalence of hypertension in Pekanbaru City 10.76%.
Uncontrolled blood pressure in hypertension can continue into target organ damage
with the main complication in cardiovascular. Adherence of taking antihypertensive
drugs is very important in maintaining blood pressure control. The purpose of this
study was to analyze association between adherence level of taking antihypertensive
drugs with blood pressure control on hypertension patients at PHC of Tenayan Raya
Pekanbaru. This study was an analytical study with a cross-sectional design and a
purposive sampling with 56 respondents. The data were taken from medical record
and the questionnaire about the level of adherence using Morisky Medication
Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) and analyzed using chi-square test. The results of this
study indicates the significant association between adherence level of taking
antihypertensive drugs with blood pressure control (P value 0.012).
