Tragedi Di Mempusun: Perang Antara Kerajaan Siak Dan Kerajaan Pelalawan (1806-1811)

The establishment of the Malay Kingdoms in Riau, making these kingdoms
expand his territory by conquering other kingdoms. The same goes for the Siak
Kingdom and the Pelalawan Kingdom. The war between the two kingdoms took
place in Pelalawan, namely in Mempusun. In this study discusses about: (1) The
background of the causes of the war between the Kingdom of Siak and the Kingdom
of Pelalawan; (2) The reign of the Kingdom of Siak during the reign of Sultan Syarif
Ali; (3) the course of the war between the Siak Kingdom and the Pelalawan
Government 1806-1811; (4) the end and impact of the war between the Siak
Kingdom and the Pelalawan Kingdom. In this study, researchers use the historical
method, which the historical method has 4 stages, namely: (1) Heuristics; (2)
Criticism of sources; (3) Interpretation; (4) Historiography. The results of this study
showed that the war was based on differences of opinion between the Kingdom of
Siak and the Kingdom of Pelalawan regarding the area of power, and its firmness in
maintaining their respective opinions. There were two attacks in this war. Victory
was in the Kingdom of Siak, and the war was over, after the rise of Sayed
Abdurrahman as King in the Kingdom of Pelalawan, Sayed Abdurrahman issued
information leading to peace. Sayed Abdurrahman asked the former King of
Pelalawan, namely Maharaja Lela Putra to return to Pelalawan to be made the Great
Man of the Kingdom and guaranteed his safety, and the end of the war was to make
peace and bind the ‘Begito’ brotherhood which is the brotherhood of the afterlife.
