Korelasi Dan Analisis Lintas Antar Karakter Agronomi Dengan Hasil Tanaman Kedelai [Glycine Max (L.) Merrill]
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the value of the correlation between agronomic characters and the
magnitude of the direct and indirect influence of agronomic characters on soybean yields. A total
of 12 soybean varieties were planted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture,
University of Riau. Each of the six genotypes was planted in plots measuring 320 cm x 240 cm
with a spacing of 40 cm x 20 cm using a randomized block design with three replications. The
variables observed included the age of flowering plants, harvest age, plant height, number of
primary branches, total number of pods per plant, number of healthy pods per plant, number of
seeds per plant, number of seeds per pod, seed weight per plant, and weight of 100 grains. The
data were analyzed using analysis of variance and correlation values were analyzed using path
analysis of Singh and Chaudhary models. The results of the correlation and path analysis showed
that there were positive and negative correlations between agronomic characters and soybean
yields. The positive correlation was on the character of the total number of pods per plant, the
number of pithy pods per plant, and the number of seeds per plant. After further analysis using
cross-printing, it can be seen that the character that has a direct influence on high and positive
yields is the number of pithy pods per plant so that this character can be used as a character that
is able to predict soybean yields.
