Potensi Bakteri Endofit Dari Tanaman Karet (Hevea Brasiliensis) Yang Memiliki Aktivitas Inhibitor -Amilase Sebagai Alternatif Antidiabetes

Endophytic bacteria are microorganisms found in plant tissues and are able to
produce secondary metabolites, one of which -amylase inhibitor. The potential
of plants is closely related to one of them with endophytic microbes in plant
tissues. This study aimed to determine the potential of endophytic bacteria from
rubber plants to produce -amylase inhibitors. Five isolates of endophytic bacteria
with codes L1M1.A2, L1M1.B4, L1M2.B14, L2M1.A27, and L2M2.D54 were
grown in production medium containing starch, peptone, and yeast extract and
incubated for 48 hours at 25oC. Crude extracts of bacterial secondary metabolites
were analyzed using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 540 nm.Keywords: -amylase inhibitor, antidiabetic, endophytic bacteria, rubber plant.
