Politik Hukum Pembentukan Daerah Otonom Baru Di Provinsi Riau Berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 23 Tahun 2014 Tentang Pemerintahan Daerah

The development of the New Autonomous Region in Riau Province is
developing well and rapidly, because the community is given the opportunity to
develop their potential more optimally. However, there are many candidates for
the New Autonomous Region in Riau Province such as: South Indragiri Hiir,
North Indragiri Hilir, Rohul Darussalam, Mount Ceylon Darussalam, Rumbai,
Duri, etc. This paper discusses the Legal Politics of the Establishment of a New
Autonomous Region in Riau Province: From Regulation to Constitution. This
research is in the form of juridical normative legal research with library research
data collection techniques. While the nature of this research is descriptive. The
legal politics of the formation of a new autonomous region in Riau Province has
been fulfilled, but apart from the criteria that have been met, the division has also
been formed due to a political aspect. The criteria for candidates for new
autonomous regions in Riau Province have met the requirements as stated in the
applicable laws and regulations, but candidates for Expansion Regions in Riau
Province have obstacles in administrative requirements consisting of joint
approval of the Regency/City DPRD which will become the scope of the regional
area. preparation and joint approval of the parent provincial DPRD and the
regional governor of the parent province. The author's suggestion to local
governments is to initiate the formation of new autonomous regions through
earlier discussions and to be firm in the administration of government so that
trends can be avoided.
