Pengembangan Modul Ajar Menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Kontekstual pada Materi Peluang untuk Meningkatkan Kecakapan Koneksi Matematis Peserta Didik SMK Fase E
The ability to make mathematical connections is one of the skills needed in learning mathematics. The ability to make mathematical connections needs to be honed from an early age because mathematics lessons have many relationships and benefits with other fields. Mathematical connection skills are internal and external abilities that connect between mathematical topics, connect mathematics with other fields of science, and connect mathematics with daily life. Knowing the importance of mathematical connection skills, through the teaching module developed, it can improve students' mathematical connection skills.
This study aims to develop a teaching module using a contextual learning model on opportunity materials to facilitate the mathematical connection skills of phase E students that are valid, practical and effective. The form of research is development research using a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develpoment, Dessimante). Phase Define, carried out by conducting an initial analysis, analysis of student character, concept analysis, task analysis, and specification of learning objectives. Phase Design It is the stage of making instruments and making the initial design of teaching modules. Phase Development It is a stage of development and validation of teaching modules by experts. The results of the validation of the teaching module were revised, then a trial was carried out to find out the level of practicality of the teaching module. Phase Disseminate is the stage of publication of research results and conducting packaging teaching modules in the form of books as products to be disseminated to Development Vocational Schools. Data collection techniques include questionnaires, observations, tests, documentation and interviews.
The validity of the teaching module is determined from the average score filled in or assessed by the validator on the validation sheet. The validation results of the four teaching modules met the criteria of being very valid with an average score of 3.9; 3,9; 3.8 and 3.9. The practicality of the teaching module is determined from the average response questionnaire of students and teachers, tests one to one, small class trials, field trials and observation sheets. The results of the trial to the four teaching modules in the trial one to one meet the very practical criteria with a percentage of 90%; 91%; 91% and 92% of the student response questionnaires. The results of the small group trial of the five teaching modules met the very practical criteria with a percentage of 91%; 92%; 90%; and 91% of the results of the student response questionnaire. The results of the field trial met the very practical criteria, with a percentage of 90%; 91%; 92% and 92%, and the results of the observation sheet were 97.5 by meeting very practical criteria. The results of validation, student and teacher response questionnaires and observation sheets were obtained that the teaching modules developed met valid and practical criteria.
The effectiveness of teaching modules is seen based on the average score posttest and improving students' mathematical connection skills. The results of the analysis show that the average posttest higher than average pretest. Analysis N-Gain shows that the increase is in the medium category. The teaching module using a contextual learning model on opportunity material has been proven to be effective in improving mathematical connection skills. It can be seen that the teaching module developed has met the criteria for effectiveness.
The conclusion of the discussion of the results of the development research carried out is to produce a product in the form of a teaching module using a contextual learning model on opportunity materials to improve the mathematical connection skills of SMK Phase E students who meet the criteria of valid, practical and effective. The resulting products are handed over to schools that have contributed to research and are expected to be used as learning resources and references for the development of teaching modules on other topics. In addition, the results of the research are presented through publication in accredited journals in the form of articles and seminars on research results, in accordance with the principle of effective and wide dissemination.
