Identifikasi Miskonsepsi Peserta Didik Pada Materi Struktur Atom Menggunakan Five-Tier Multiple Choice Diagnostic Test Kelas X SMA N 4 Pekanbaru
Misconceptions in chemistry learning on atomic structure material at SMAN 4 Pekanbaru. This study work for identify the concepts containing misconceptions and the sources contributing to these misconceptions in students regarding atomic structure material. Using a five-tier multiple choice, the research was conducted with 149 students from May to July 2024. The results showed that the overall rate of misconceptions among students was 45.54%, categorized as moderate. The highest misconceptions were found in the concept of atomic theory development (51.68%), followed by atomic particles (42.01%), isotopes, isobars, and isotones (41.78%), electron configuration (46.31%), and quantum numbers (47.20%). The most common source of misconceptions was personal thought processes (51.8%), followed by textbooks (23.5%), peers (11.4%), the internet (7.3%), and teachers (5.5%). This study provides valuable insights for teachers to improve the quality of chemistry instruction.
