Analisis Korelasi Berbagai Karakter Kuantitatif Pada 14 Genotipe Kedelai (Glycine Max (L.) Merril)
ABSTRACT
Soybean is one of the most important food crop commodities after rice and corn in Indonesia. Soybean production in Indonesia is still low and has decreased from year to year, so it needs to be increased, one of which is through plant breeding. The formation of superior varieties can be done through plant breeding programs. One of the important goals in plant breeding is to obtain high seed yields. Differences in character in soybean plants can affect soybean production results. Through correlation analysis information can be obtained about the closeness of the relationship between each character. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of fourteen treatments and three replications. The results of the correlation analysis showed that the characters that were highly positively correlated with seed weight per plant were harvest age, plant height 70 DAP, number of nodes 35 DAP, number of nodes 70 DAP, canopy width 35 DAP, canopy width 70 DAP, stem diameter 35 DAP, stem diameter 70 DAP, total number of pods per plant, number of full pods per plant, total number of seeds per plant, number of full seeds per plant, and secondary root length. The characters of the number of full pods per plant, the total number of pods per plant, the number of full seeds per plant, and the total number of seeds per plant had the highest and very significant positive relationships with seed weights per plant of 0,835, 0,851, 0,887, and 0,899. Characters that have the highest and most significant positive correlation values in several soybean genotypes are suggested to be used as one of the selection criteria in plant breeding.
