Pengaruh Causticizing Efficiency (Ce) Dan Density Lime Milk Terhadap Chemical Disc (Cd) Filter Performance
ABSTRACT
Recausticizing and lime kiln is one of the departments at PT RAPP which plays an important role as a white liquor supply unit for wood chips cooking ingredients in digester. In the process, the recausticizing lime kiln unit will process green liquor into white liquor by adding lime (CaO) through a causticizing reaction. The main objective of the causticizing process is to produce a uniform white liquor quality with a low solid content and sufficient active alkali for the digester cooking process. To be able to achieve this objective, it is necessary to carry out stable control of the performance of the Chemical Disc (CD) Filter which acts as the final process in producing white liquor. The stable performance of the CD Filter can be obtained by maintaining a stable value of the Causticizing Efficiency (CE) and density of lime milk, because lime milk is used as an inlet feed to the CD Filter. On this research, writer do analysis of the effect of Causticizing Efficiency (CE) and density of lime milk to white liquor production and also white liquor quality in the form of Total Active Alkali (TAA) was carried out. The data from this research are primary data obtained from measurement results using digital analytical balances and secondary data obtained from the process engineer (PE) which is then processed into a correlation graph. Based on the results of the research analysis, it can be concluded that the range values of density of lime milk is appropriate for obtaining the value of Causticizing Efficiency (CE) of lime milk based on the standard parameters of white liquor which are stable 80.5 – 82%, which ranges from 1.176 – 1.184 g/mL. With the value of the Causticizing Efficiency (CE) and density of lime milk mentioned, are obtained the amount of white liquor production and the value of Total Active Alkali (TAA) of white liquor that meets the RKE operational standard parameters, which are respectively big as 64 – 85 L/s and 105 – 107 g/L. The value of the Causticizing Efficiency (CE) and density of lime milk will be inversely proportional to the amount of white liquor production produced by the CD Filter, but directly proportional to the value of Total Active Alkali (TAA) of white liquor.
