Perancangan Dan Pembuatan Solar Assisted Heat Pump Sebagai Alat Pengering Pisang Raja Sereh
ABSTRACT
One of the problems in drying agricultural products is the limited solar heat during the rainy season. Therefore, it is necessary to find other alternatives to obtain heat energy. One of them is by utilising the working principle of heat pumps with the help of solar collector or commonly referred to as Solar Assisted Heat Pump (SAHP). This research designs a lemongrass plantain dryer with a heat pump working system assisted by a flat plate type solar collector. The results of this design, researchers get design data in the form of a collector area of 150 x 150 cm with a slope of 20o, dimensions of the drying room 80 x 80 x 60 cm, pipe length 3 metres, compressor power 350 Watt. Simple tests were carried out to obtain the performance of the dryer. This test was conducted under the hot sun using a sample of 3.300 grams of lemongrass plantain sliced with a thickness of 4 mm. Based on the test, it can be concluded that this dryer is able to reduce the mass of lemongrass plantain as much as 1600 grams in 5 hours 30 minutes with an average drying chamber temperature of 50.27 oC with a humidity of 45.43%. In the drying room, the highest temperature obtained is 62.4 oC. In the solar collector, the highest inlet temperature is 60.1 oC and the highest outlet temperature is 66.2 oC.
