Pemanfaatan Tepung Daun Kangkung Air (Ipomoea aquatica Forsk) Difermentasi EM-4 Dalam Pakan Terhadap Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Patin (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus)
Water Spinach Leaves (Ipomoea aquatica Forsk) is one of the alternative ingredients that can substitute soy flour in in feed which has a high protein content of 23.99%. This study aims to obtain the best percentage of the use of fermented water spinach leaf meal in feed to produce feed efficiency and growth of catfish seeds (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). The method used in this study was a one factor complete randomized design (CRD) with 5 levels of treatment and 3 replicates, while the treatment was artificial feed containing fermented water spinach leaf meal by 0, 20, 30, 40, and 50%. The test fish used was catfish with an average weight of 1,22 ± 0,22 g. The test fish was fed to the catfish which was dipped in the fermented water spinach leaves. The feed was given to test fish kept in cages measuring 1x1x1 m3 with a stocking density of 20 fish/m3. The test feed was fed 10% of the biomass weight for 56 days. The container used for observation of feed digestibility was an aquarium measuring 60x40x40 cm3 with a stocking density of 25 fish/m3. Measurement feed digestibility was carried out by giving test feed three times a day ad satiation which has been mixed with Cr2O3 indicator as much as 0.5% of the total feed. After feeding, feces were collected and dried for analyze of Cr2O3 and protein content. The results showed that the substitution of water spinach leaf meal fermented with EM-4 probiotic in feed as much as 40% was able to be well utilized by fish and is the best percentage that produces resulted in feed digestibility of 77.58%, protein digestibility of 89.50%, feed efficiency of 43.72%, protein retention of 58.48%, specific growth rate of 4.62%, and 100% survival.
