The Effect of Animated Videos on Improving Students’ Vocabulary at SMPN 3 Peranap
This study found that the students in the SMPN 3 Peranap lack vocabulary, which makes it difficult for them to learn English. This occurrence arises from students’ reluctance and fear of making errors, resulting in a lack of attentiveness during lesson explanations. The teacher needs to demonstrate creativity in establishing a comfortable and enjoyable learning atmosphere through the use of media, specifically animation videos. This study uses quantitative research with a pre-experimental design. Quantitative research involves the collection and analysis of numerical data, which allows the identification of patterns, the calculation of averages, the making of predictions, the testing of cause-and-effect relationships, and the generalization of results to the wider population. After the treatment, the students were able to classify the words into nouns, adjectives, Adjectives, verbs, etc.The student’sachievement isunderstandingthe meaningofwords,use of words, word formation and word grammar. Animation videoscan improve the waystudents think and can motivate students. The result of the learning process in this research in the pre-test was 30.74. Meanwhile, in the post-test, the mean was 78.34.
