This study aims to determine what factors cause the lack of students' listening skills. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study, there are 2 factors causing the lack of students' listening skills, namely internal factors which include cognitive abilities (language skills, ability to remember information, ability to understand information), interest and motivation (enthusiasm and focus), and health conditions (physical health conditions), as well as external factors of the learning environment (classroom comfort) and school (quality of teaching from teachers).
