Identifikasi Nyamuk Spesiesanopheles di Kecamatan Sungai Sembilan Kota Dumai
Malaria is an infectious disease which often happens in tropical and sub tropical country. Sungai Sembilan District Dumai City is one of the endemic areas with Month Parasite Incidens (MoPI) 0.40%. One of the most influencing factors related to high malaria cases is Anopheles mosquito as the vector of malaria. The purpose of this study was to know about Anopheles mosquito species and their breeding sites at Sungai Sembilan District Dumai City regency as a malaria-endemic area. The sampling method was consecutive sampling with night landing collection, environment observation in the morning and followed by identification at the laboratory. The result showed that out of 589 mosquitoes, after being separated, there were 62 Anopheles mosquitoes consisting of 50 Anopheles sundaicus (82.46%) and 12 Anopheles subpictus (17.54%). From 10 different locations which were suspected as the mosquito breeding sites, only 1 location in puddle (10%) was identified to have larvae Anopheles. In conclusion, Anopheles sundaicus and Anopheles subpictus were the species at Sungai Sembilan District Dumai City and puddle was the breeding site of Anopheles mosquito.
