Pengaruh Rasio Mol Minyak : Metanol Terhadap Sintesis Biodiesel Dari Cpo (Crude Palm Oil) Menggunakan Katalis La/Zno
The synthesis biodiesel influenced by several factors, one of them is the ratio mole of oil : methanol, where to produce excess amounts of biodiesel, excess amount of methanol is needed to encourage the reaction towards the product, so yield biodiesel obtained will also increased. This research studied the effect of mole ratio oil : methanol with variations 1:9, 1:12, 1:18 and metal that falls into ZnO with variations 1%, 2%, 3%, and 6%, to the yield of biodiesel produced, and to identifying the characteristics of biodiesel produced. This study begins impregnation of La metal into ZnO, the La/ZnO catalyst is calcination for 6 hours at 500oC with N2 gas, oxidation for 2 hours at 400oC with O2 gas and reduction for 2 hours at 400oC with H2 gas. After that, do the process of esterification in the flat bed reactor the temperature reaction 60 oC and reaction time 60 minutes, and then process of transesterification with temperature reaction 60 oC, reaction time 90 minutes, agitation speed 400 rpm, and catalyst weight 1 % (w/w) oil. Highest biodiesel yield obtained amounted to 90.937 % at the mole ratio oil of methanol 1:18 and metals La 6 %. Physical characterization of biodiesel were done such as density 881 kg/m3, kinematic viscosity 3.53 mm2/s, acid number 0.423 mg-KOH/g biodiesel and flash point 148 oC respectively which have accordance with the standards of Indonesian biodiesel (SNI 04-7128-2015). Keywords: biodiesel, CPO, La/ZnO catalyst, transesterification
