Komunikasi Interpersonal Istri Yang Berkarir Di Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Riau Dalam Menjaga Keharmonisan Pernikahan

Being a wife who has multiple roles inside and outside the home is not an
easy thing. A wife who has career and has more income than her husband must be
able to divide her time between family and career. Being a wife who has career is
the dream of some women so as not to depend on her husband. To keep a
household harmony cannot be separated from communicaton. The key to the
integrity of a household is to maintain communication. Interpersonal
communication is needed in maintaining domestic harmony. This research aims to
determine the attitude of openness, guarantee, networking, and the tasks
allocation for wives with careers in Dinas Pendidikan of Riau Province in keeping
marriage harmony.
This research using qualitative descriptive methode with purposive
sampling technique. The theory that used in this research is social penetration.
Data collection techniques using interview, observation and documentation. The
informant consists of 7 people, namely 5 main informants and 2 supporting
informants. Subjects in this research were 5 wives with careers in Dinas
Pendidikan of Riau Province. Data analysis techniques were data reduction, data
presentation and conclusion drawing. This research also uses data validity
techniques namely triangulation of sources.
The results of this research shows the openness, empathy, supportive
attitude, guarantee, social networking, and the tasks allocation for wives with
careers in Dinas Pendidikan of Riau Province who is able to maintain marital
harmony. A career wife has openness seen from the form of trust in her partner.
Be open in all matters and have a discussion together before making a decision.
Second, the existence of empathy to appreciate a partner requires things like
hugs, praise, and other happy things. Third, a supportive attitude is shown by
acting in a way that is more submissive and less selfish, accepting and supporting
decisions that have been discussed together and seen from the way he speaks
frankly, to the point. Fourth, guarantee or commitment that made based on the
deal of husband and wife before the marriage and still going on till now
according to mutual agreement. The family harmony is seen from how to prepare
a commitment made by a partner. Fifth, the interpersonal communication network
in a working wife is influenced by a good and supportive environment. The
condition of the wife who has a career does not affect a harmonious marriage
because it has a positive environment. Social networks can be such as parents,
relatives and the environment. Sixth, the division of tasks for husband and wife
couples is carried out flexibly with a sense of responsibility.
