Analisis Isi Lambung Ikan Motan (Thynnichthys Thynnoides Bleeker, 1852) Di Danau Tanjung Kudu Desa Kualu Kecamatan Tambang Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau
Abstract
Thynnichthys thynnoides is one of fish species found in the Tanjung Kudu
Lake, an oxbow lake of the Kampar River. A study aims to determine the type of
food consumed by T. thynnoides was conducted from March-April 2021.
Samplings were carried out 4 times, once/two weeks. The number of fish caught
was 205, but only 131 fishes could be used as samples for stomach contents
analysis, as the stomach content of 74 other fishes was less than 25% and it cannot
be analyzed. The stomach content was analyzed using a volumetric method and it
is used as a basis to calculate the Index of Preponderance (IP). Results shown that
the main food of T. thynnoides was Chlorophyceae (50.42%). In small fishes (SL
70-79 mm), however, there was no food type dominate the stomach content. The
main food for male and female fishes were similar, namely Chlorophyceae, which
was 52.29% and 49.26% respectively. Based on data obtained, T. thynnoides was
categorized as plankton feeder.
