Rancang Bangun Antena Textile Berbahan Cotton Dengan Teknik Sulam Untuk Deteksi Ukuran Tumor Payudara
ABSTRACT Breast cancer is one of the most feared cancers for women worldwide, including in Indonesia. Early detection is crucial to prevent deaths caused by this disease. One of the technologies used for object detection, especially in the medical diagnosis field, is microwave imaging system which uses antenna as one of its elements. Textile antennas, which can adjust to the human body shape, are the latest development in antenna technology. In this study, a textile antenna was designed using cotton as substrate material and operated at ISM frequency of 2.4 GHz. The simulation results showed that this antenna had a return loss value of -17.762 dB, a bandwidth of 796.3 MHz, a VSWR of 1.9, and a nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern. This antenna was also simulated using a breast phantom to detect the presence of tumors. The simulation results showed that the amplitude in the quadrant with tumor was higher than the quadrant without tumor. To ensure that the antenna works as a size detection device, a testing process is carried out with four conditions: without a tumor, with a tumor diameter of 1 cm, with a tumor diameter of 2 cm, and with a tumor diameter of 3 cm. Then, the amplitude of the time domain for each of these conditions is compared. The fabrication process of the antenna was manually done through the embroidery process using semiconductor thread, and the fabricated antenna was tested to obtain result parameters based on the antenna's flexibility level. Testing was carried out using tumors of different sizes on the breast phantom, and the results showed that the antenna amplitude can be used to detect tumor size in the breast.
