Konsentrasi Logam Berat Pb, Cu Dan Zn Pada Air Laut Dan Sedimen Di Perairan Sungai Enam Kabupaten Bintan Provinsi Kepulauan Riau
The research was conducted in June 2015 by collecting seawater and sediment samples from Sungai Enam Coastal waters of Bintan, Riau Islands Province. The analysis of heavy metal concentrations was performed by AAS Perkin Elmer 3110 in the Laboratory of Marine Chemistry Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The results showed that highest concentrations of Pb and Cu in seawater were found at former bauxite mining areas 0.0544 mg/l and 0.0419 mg/l whilst the highest Zn concentration was in the estuary area (0.2087 mg/l). The highest concentrations of Pb, Cu and Zn in sediment were found in the estuary area (5.3028 μg/g, 4.5111 μg/g and 23.5366 μg/g respectively). The lowest concentrations of Pb, Cu and Zn in sea water were recorded in the port area and residential area (0,05, 0,04, and 0,19 mg/l). Meanwhile, Pb, Cu and Zn lowest concentrations in sediment were identified in the former bauxite mining area (3.15, 2.39 and 9.46 μg/g respectively). Concentrations of Pb, Cu and Zn in sediments in Sungai Enam coastal waters were still below the ERL and ERM values, thus no serious negative impact to the organisms accused in those waters. Key words : Heavy metal, seawater, sediment, Bintan Island.
