Child Friendly City (KLA) is a term that was introduced by the State Ministry for Women's Empowerment in 2005 through the Child Friendly City Policy. Due to the reason for accommodating the regency government, later the term Child Friendly City became a Child Friendly Regency/City and was shortened to KLA. The policy describes KLA as government effort that aims to accelerate the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child from the legal framework into definitions, strategies, development interventions such as policy products, institutions, and child-friendly programs.
This study aims to determine and analyze how to optimize policy development and synergy between related agencies in the Child Friendly Regency/City (KLA) in Siak Regency.
The results of the study found that communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structures were critical to the successful implementation of KLA policies in Siak Regency. The synergy between related agencies in developing KLA policies in Siak Regency has encountered obstacles, budget constraints and no budget based on children's needs, lack of socialization to the community, lack of public awareness.
