Oil palm plantations in Riau Province are oil palm plantations with the largest land area in Indonesia. One of the areas in Riau Province where oil palm plantation farmers are located is in Kampar Regency, especially in Tapung Hilir District. In the process of shaving oil palm leaves, the craftsmen still use the manual method, namely by cutting the leaves to leave a stick using a knife. To be able to help craftsmen in the process of shaving palm leaves which is faster, saves energy, and produces more production, the design and optimization of the palm shaving machine design is carried out with the aim of making the process of shaving palm leaves easier in a faster time. The method used in the creative idea of designing this machine is the sensuous association method (sam) and fuzzy-analytical hierarchy process (fuzzy-ahp) for decision making to start the design process. The results of the design of a palm oil stick sharpening machine with machine dimensions are: Height 1550 mm. , width 460 mm, and length 850 mm. The palm oil strip sharpening machine uses 2 CW and CCW steel wire blades (zig-zag stretch) and a knife that is driven using a 1/4 HP electric motor with a rotation of 1400 rpm. The transmission system uses a pulley and V belt, the dimensions of the driving pulley are 95 mm in diameter and the driven pulley is 577 mm in diameter, while the V belt used is a type A V belt with a length of 1753 mm. The benefit of this research is that it is hoped that the palm oil strip sharpening machine will be easy to operate and capable of producing a large capacity in a short time.
