Pemberian Zeolit Sintetis Dan Pupuk K Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Padi Gogo (Oryza Sativa L.) Di Medium Tanah Ultisol
ABSTRACT
The decline in rice production in Riau Province is a major challenge in meeting food needs, which is caused by low soil fertility, especially in Ultisol soil. This study aims to evaluate the effect of synthetic zeolite and potassium (K) fertilizer on the growth and yield of upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) in Ultisol soil medium. The study was conducted factorially in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors, namely the dose of synthetic zeolite (0, 200, and 300 kg/ha-1) and the dose of K fertilizer (0, 60, 80, and 100 kg K₂O/ha-1). The results showed no significant interaction between synthetic zeolite and K fertilizer on all parameters. However, separately, synthetic zeolite dose of 300 kg/ha and K fertilizer dose of 100 kg K₂O/ha-1 gave the best results on parameters of plant height, number of full grains per panicle, weight of 1000 full grains, and weight of dry milled grain per clump. The combination of these treatments gave better results than other treatments. Therefore, it is recommended to use a combination of synthetic zeolite 300 kg/ha-1 and K fertilizer 100 kg K₂O/ha-1 to increase the yield of upland rice on Ultisol soil.
