Prarancangan Pabrik Formaldehida Proses D.B. Westner Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Formaldehida (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Formaldehyde is the simplest aldehyde in terms of chemical structure. At room
temperature, formaldehyde is a colorless gas with a pungent odor. It is highly
reactive, readily polymerizes, is highly flammable, and can form detonative
mixtures in air. The factory that will be built aims to increase the country's
foreign exchange and open up new job opportunities for residents around the
industrial area. The process used to produce Formaldehyde is the reaction of
methanol and oxygen in a reactor as the initial raw material using an iron
molybdenum oxside catalyst. This factory is planned to be established in Bontang,
East Kalimantan with a capacity of 40,000 tons/year. Obtained BEP 20%, ROI
95%, then the establishment of this Formaldehyde factory is worthy of further
study.
