Pengaruh Memory Improvement Mnemonic Terhadap Status Memori Jangka Pendek Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau Angkatan 2010
Short-term memory is the brain's ability to retain information received from a few
seconds to several hours. Short-term memory has an important role in the
learning process because of the short-term memory acts as a bridge before the
received information turned into long term memory. Mnemonic memory
improvement makes the formation of short term memory faster. This research was
a cross sectional and analyzed correlation of mnemonic memory improvement
and short term memory status in medical students.The subject was first year
medical student of Riau University. The subject were 98 students and divided into
two groups: treatment and control group. The treatment group was given
mnemonic memory improvement while the control group was not. The subjects
were asked to follow short-term memory tests using the word test. The number of
correct answers in the test was changed to a percentage. This research obtained
that average short-term memory status of the treatment group was 91 (± 11.91)%
and the average short-term memory status of the control group was 89 (±
13.73)%. There was no significant correlation between the conferment of
