Pengembangan Modul Berbasis Pbl (Problem Based Learning) Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Pada Materi Asam Dan Basa
The research that has been done is the Development of a PBL (Problem Based Learning) Module to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Ability on Acid and Base Subjects in class XI MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. This research was motivated by the condition of the teaching materials in the field which were not based on PBL of students in improving their critical thinking skills. The module is a teaching material that can be used as a means of independent learning for students, because the module has been equipped with instructions for independent study. In addition, the teacher's role in learning using modules can be minimized, so that learning is more student-centered. So that the purpose of doing the research is to develop PBL-based modules on acid and base materials that are valid, easy and effective to use as independent teaching materials for students in the learning process.
This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) and was developed using Borg and Gall steps consisting of 10 steps including: 1) Introduction and information gathering (Research and Information Collection). 2) Planning (Planning). 3) Early product development (Develop Preliminary Form of Product). 4) Preliminary Field Trial (Prelimery fielf testing). 5) Main Product Revision. 6) Main Field Testing. 7) Product Revision for Field Trials (Operational Product Revision). 8) Trial Implementation / user (Operational field testing). 9) Final Product Revision. 10) Dissemination and implementation (Dissemination and Impiementation).
This development research was carried out at the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Riau University, and then tested on a small scale on 10 students and the implementation of this development research was carried out at MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru, which is located at Jl.Manyar Sakti, Panam, Kec. , Handsome. The time for implementing the research starts in January - February 2019.
Data collection techniques in the study were validation questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, student response questionnaires and critical thinking skills tests. The data analysis technique used in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis by calculating the percentage of the validation value, the teacher's response questionnaire and the student's response questionnaire. The results of data analysis obtained the validity of the content aspects, presenter aspects, language aspects, graphic aspects and PBL characteristics with the respective percentage values of 77.3%, 84.6%, 81.6%, 84.9%, 84.9 % with a valid category.
The level of convenience obtained through the response questionnaire of educators and students as users of PBL-based modules. From the results of the questionnaire analysis of the responses of educators and students, the results were 90.69% and 95.2% with very good criteria used.

as evidenced by the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.00 0.05.
Based on the overall results of the research, it can be concluded that the Development of PBL (Problem Based Learning) Modules to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Ability on Acid and Base Materials in class XI is valid and suitable for use as student independent teaching materials in the learning process.
