Kapabilitas Dinas Pendidikan Kota Pekanbaru Dalam Mengoptimalkan Penyelenggaraan Belajar Dengan Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh Di Masa Pandemi Covid-19
This study was motivated by the Covid-19 pandemic which forced the
change of conventional learning methods to distance learning. In its
implementation, it is not effective due to economic limitations, infrastructure, and
supervision of teachers and parents. This study seeks to determine the capabilities
of the Pekanbaru City Education Office in Optimizing the Implementation of
Distance Learning Learning in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period. This study uses a
qualitative approach with a descriptive method. In collecting data, the author uses
interview and documentation techniques.
The results of the study explained that the capacity of the Pekanbaru City
Education Office in optimizing the implementation of learning by distance
learning during the Covid-19 pandemic was not good. Although institutionally
and human resources are adequate, the Education Office has not been able to
optimize learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Education Office has not
carried out ongoing training for educators as technical in the field in optimizing
the implementation of learning by distance learning during the Covid-19
pandemic. In addition, the lack of innovations made by the Education Office in
optimizing the implementation of learning by distance learning during the Covid-
19 pandemic has caused the problem of the existing learning process to not be
resolved properly. Optimizing the implementation of learning by distance learning
during the Covid-19 pandemic is not supported by an adequate budget.
