Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi
This research is motivated by the existence of a gap between the expected learning outcomes and the learning outcomes achieved by class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning process and mathematics learning outcomes by applying the Problem Based Learning model. The form of this research is classroom action research which consists of two cycles. The subjects of this study were 16 students of class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi with heterogeneous levels of academic ability. The research instrument consisted of data collection instruments (observation sheets and learning result test sheets) and learning tools (syllabus and lesson plans that were equipped with student activity sheets). Data collection techniques in this study were observation techniques and test techniques. Observation sheets were analyzed descriptively narrative, while learning outcomes tests were analyzed statistically descriptive. Based on the qualitative data analysis, it was concluded that there was an improvement in the learning process after the Problem Based Learning model was applied. In quantitative data analysis, the percentage of students who reached KKM knowledge competency on the basic score was 31,25% (5 students), increased to 43.75% (7 students) in the first cycle and increased to 62.5% (10 students) in the second cycle. In skills competency, the percentage of students who reached KKM in the first cycle was 43.75% (7 students) and increased to 81,25% (13 students) in the second cycle. Based on the research analysis, it can be concluded that the application of Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and mathematics learning outcomes of class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.
