Perbandingan Trans Thoracic Needle Aspiration Dengan Core Needle Biopsy Terhadap Diagnostik Keganasan Rongga Toraks Di RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau

Introduction:
Thoracic cancers are the part of malignancy diseases that requires quick diagnostic procedures. Trans Thoracic Needle Aspiration and Core Needle Biopsy can be performed. Core Needle Biopsy has better accuracy diagnostic than Trans Thoracic Needle Aspiration but also has higher complication rate.
Methods:
This is a prospective analytic observational with a cross sectional study design. This study was performed on patients with thoracic cancers who came to the pulmonologist at RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province for diagnostic, then we compared Trans Thoracic Needle Aspiration and Core Needle Biopsy for diagnostic tool.
Results:
This study involved 57 subjects with the largest number is male, age >40 years (80.7%), the most tumor location in the right upper lobe (19.3%) and right media lobe (19.3%), then size >70 mm (61.4%). Based on all characteristics variable, Core Needle Biopsy has higher positivity results than Trans Thoracic Needle Aspiration for thoracic cancers diagnostic.
Conclusion:
There is a significance difference positivity between this two diagnostic methods. Core Needle Biopsy has a better positivity than Trans Thoracic Needle Aspiration in diagnosis of thoracic cancers.
