Kerapatan Adat Nagari (KAN) is an organization of ninik mamak existing and inherited by generations throughout indigenous and sustainment functions to customs, as well as resolve disputes sako and pusako. Particularly in this research in conflict management division of inheritance in Minangkabau, which consists of high inheritance and legacy low. KAN authority is in conflict management division of inheritance high but some communities to resolve conflicts in the Religious high heritage, while the lower is the authority treasures Religious Court to resolve it, but most people Minangkabau finish in KAN. This study aims to determine the communication pattern Penghulu Kerapatan Adat Nagari (KAN) in conflict management division of the inheritance.
The method used in this study is a qualitative method. The data collection is done by observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants contained in this study were seven people were determined by purposive sampling.
The results of the study of communication patterns Penghulu Kerapatan Adat Nagari in conflict management division of inheritance is to use one-way communication and two-way. Therefore, the communication with the network pattern formed chains and patterns of communication with all network channel or all channels. To convey a message or communicate with people in conflict management division of inheritance in Kanagarian Koto Nan IV West Payakumbuh, penghulu using verbal and nonverbal messages. This can be seen from the way the penghulu Kerapatan Adat Nagari consulted with the community in dealing with conflicts. Face to face communication occurs directly in oral form. Nonverbal messages can be seen from the way people accept the decisions of penghulu. The communication method used in conflict management division of inheritance is a confrontation between the parties involved or integrative problem solving. With this method, the conflict transformed into a joint problem-solving situations that can be solved by the techniques of joint problem solving, conflicting parties try to solve problems that arise among them. Second, by using a third party that the penghulu Kerapatan Adat Nagari as a mediator in dealing with the conflict.
